USA 2008
A short tour of the south-western United States: Nevada, Arizona and Utah. All shot with a Canon G7 digital stills camera
This is the first time I ever tried to shoot any video on a trip. I realised quite quickly that if I wanted to do more of this kind of thing, I would need to upgrade my equipment
Helicopter flight over Bryce Canyon
An early morning flight over the wonderful Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. The music is 'The Big Country', which was in my head the whole time we drove around Nevada, Arizona and Utah.
These are clips shot with the video function of a Canon G7 stills camera, and are what I was doing when I wasn't photographing with my other camera, which means I got all the best shots as photographs and wasn't really thinking about video.
It was after this that I started throwing clips together in iMovie and started having fun making little films, paying a little more attention to what I am shooting.

Sunset flight into the Grand Canyon
A 38 minute flight from Las Vegas to the far west of the Grand Canyon, flying over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead on the way. I totally recommend this spectacular flight.
Once in the Canyon, we got some champagne and a picnic before flying across the desert back to Vegas as the sun goes down - beautiful.
Before landing, we flew down and around The Strip to see Vegas in all its gorgeous gaudy glory.
