A couple more things I got in Turkey this year

Here’s a couple of photographs of some stuff I bought in Turkey in September 2012. The first is of a rustic pestle and mortar I bought in the farmers market in Akyaka. The second is of some little Afghan spice pots I got in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.

Jug in the form of a sheep, from Anatolia

I bought this jug in the form of a sheep a couple of weeks ago in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It came with six little cups, also carrying the wool motif. The shop I got it from was in Afghan Street, though the seller insisted it was from Anatolia.

Daily diary photos from a trip to Turkey

I’ve just uploaded the 18 daily diary photos from my recent trip to Turkey, to Blipfoto. Blipfoto is a photo journal which lets you publish one image each day. Photos must have been taken on the date they are uploaded against.

Here are all 18 photos. I will be uploading plenty more in due course, but I took well over 600, so they’ll need some sorting through first.

AllTrips uses my photograph (Montana vernacular architecture)

In 2010, I did a road trip from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Yellowstone National Park. Once at the park I stayed in the town of West Yellowstone, Montana. Whilst there, I took some photos which have duly been posted to Flickr.

Anyway, yesterday, I was contacted by Lisa from AllTrips.com, because they wanted to use my photo of the West Yellowstone Human Services Centre on their website, and I am happy to oblige.

This is one of a small group of lovely vernacular buildings in the centre of West Yellowstone. As a Londoner, to think that I travelled to this romantic-sounding place, Montana, and got to experience such awesome great American landscapes throughout the journey, well, it still blows me away. I really hope I can get back to that part of the world again one day.

iPhone photography: Guitars etc

Three photos I took this week with my iPhone. Two of them, coincidentally, related to guitars.
